Once upon a time there was this girl named Ellen.
She had epilepsy and she hated the world.
So the world hated her back.
Explaining epilepsy to a friend is no easy matter. Sometimes they may be scared. Some may be curious. Some may want to help. Some may want to flee.
But, obviously, those who care will want to understand you. For those friends, here are some brief epilepsy facts:
“Open the door and come on in,
I’m so glad to see you my friend…”
Dear Friend / Neighbor,
This isn’t a note asking for money. (Although feel free to donate if you want to!)
It’s about epilepsy. Because even though over 3 million Americans have it (more than Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, and Parkinson’s Disease combined), no one seems to want to talk about it.
