How many of you have heard or witnessed people in the ER waiting room – waiting and waiting – no matter how serious their condition.
Because they have nowhere else to go. They simply can’t afford it.
They may have had medical care up to a certain point. But now they can’t afford the insurance.
Their debt is too heavy. And they’re afraid.
They’re afraid of what’s going to happen to them if they incur more debt. They’re afraid of what will happen to their health if they go on like this.
They can’t afford to go on this way physically or financially. It’s a death sentence.
But perhaps there is a solution. It wouldn’t take a miracle, but it would take some good, common sense.

Yay! You’re back! Hope all is well.
I was in line behind a couple at the pharmacy who needed meds for the baby the woman held in her arms. The cost was $325.00. They couldn’t pay. Today there are workarounds, but at the time – some twenty years ago – there was nothing.

The other day, I saw an old couple hand some necessary drugs back to the pharmacist, because they couldn’t afford them.
I was heartsick. And I wondered “What about Medicare?”
It seems that isn’t enough for those who really need medical assistance.
And selfishly I wondered and worried about my future. (I’m 70.)

There are meds that Medicare in its wisdom will not cover. Alas.

Just wondering since I said HELL NO to ever giving CVS drug store another chance for me. Not when they would not give to me what REFILLS I was to get, & they claim my part D insurance was not going to cover it, and STILL I was going to be without drugs, until I called my neurologist office up & they told me I can get a 7 day supply of what I was taking. The neurologist then had to explain why I need the VIMPAT I was taking & I had been taking these drugs for over 10 years & they need to know WHY I have to take VIMPAT ? You can not tell me that these drug companies & BIG PHARMA / FDA are not working FOR but against the patient and the same can be said for drug insurance companies. I did go into a CVS store yesterday to see about XCOPRI & VIMPAT about how the availability would be if the supply chain gets effected for drugs like these CSD’s Controlled Substance Drugs, & he said there should not be a problem to get what am taking. Before I left I had to tell him in 7 more weeks it will be 2 years with no seizures as far as focal turning into GRAND MALS to which I am always on the ALERT as that 2 year time gets closer. I can still see where the foods with NITRATES & NITRITES are a HIGH RISK for me to eat, as sometimes I will at least get a stomach feeling of a seizure wanting to happen but it stops, & sometimes I get a dull headache, in that area of the brain where I had my surgery over 22 years ago, & I am on a HIGH ALERT more so, because I never get headaches. So it is as it is, and I will never abuse my brain chemistry b the day with NEUROTOXINS & EXCITOTOXINS getting digested with the foods I may eat once in a while, only for 1 time that a GRAND MAL might happen. NOT WORTH THE RISK, at my age of over 63 years old, to then maybe see later that the drugs will not work after that seizure. The ER-911 rooms are worthless to go to for most of us.
