The Embrace2 – Newly Cleared by the FDA – with New Advantages for You | March 5, 2019

The fear, the anxiety, the anticipation of another seizure.

Coupled with the dread that you won’t be able to tell. When it’s coming. IF it’s coming.

The triggers, the reasons, the causes.

Peace of mind is difficult to come by for — you and for your loved ones.

It’s worry all the time. Every day.

Does it always have to be this way?

INTRODUCING THE EMBRACE2.

“My life truly changed when I came across Empatica’s Embrace”

“The Embrace has brought my confidence back and has drastically reduced my anxiety. My life truly changed when I came across Empatica’s Embrace.” — Yumna Aysen

“Embrace has given me my freedom back.”

“The Mate app is great. I can open it and see reports on how many seizures I’ve had, and at what time they occurred.

I feel much more comfortable now that I have been able to identify some of my triggers as well as when most of my seizures occur.

Embrace is perfect if you just want to know more about your seizures, but it’s also great if you set up the Alert function to notify someone if it detects a seizure.” — Aidan

Samantha’s Fund

“I have seen how beneficial the Embrace watch is and started a fund to help other people get the Embrace even if they cannot afford it.

I want to save as many lives as possible. I want to prevent SUDEP, by purchasing this lifesaving watch for others.” – Samantha

“My Embrace watch is my ‘band of angels’”.

“It’s my first response device!

I would recommend the Embrace watch to anybody who suffers just like me. My only regret is that I didn’t find it sooner.” – Megan

“With the Embrace, I feel safer and I pray more people discover it also.

Now that I have my Embrace, I’ve been able to become more free and more independent than I ever imagined that I could be.

I would recommend the Embrace to anyone who has seizures, ones that cause them to get hurt, ones that make them afraid to do the things that they love.” – Destiny Burns

EMBRACE2 — WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

Embrace2 — Impressive Heritage

Developed at M.I.T., its credentials are impressive.

When a seizure starts, the information is given to the app which will then alert designated caregivers that help is needed.

A rapid temperature change and signature shaking is picked up by the device, along with electrodermal activity which goes up, driven by the brain’s electrical hyperactivity.

In addition, this newest smartwatch can also monitor temperature changes and is equipped with gyroscope and accelerometers, which have the ability to track your activities.

When physical stress levels spike to a certain level, the watch begins to vibrate.

If you are unable to turn the vibration off, an alert is sent as many as five predetermined paired smartphones.

It will go to any partners, parents, friends, or caregivers’ cell phone, vibrating to alert the companion watch of the medical situation or status, so somebody can check on you.

In short, think of style coupled with a measure of safety, and you have the Embrace2 watch. The smallest epilepsy monitor in the world.

This is the first smartwatch to be cleared by the FDA in the field of epilepsy.

A handsome medical-quality wrist-worn wearable, to help measure epileptic seizures, activity and sleep.

It has been created to track your activity, stress and overall body balance, enabling people who live with epilepsy to get an alert when an unusual event happens such as a convulsive seizure, warning them and their loved ones.

Not only during exercise, but also at work, during your commute, during the night, Embrace2 is the thinnest smart watch of this kind ever made..

The Embrace2 is water-resistant, uses Bluetooth Low Energy, and provides USB connectivity for charging.

Caregiver Alert Confirmation

The Early Access Program community reviewed a new feature called Caregiver Alert Confirmation, which allows Caregivers to confirm an alert call by pressing “1”.

This important improvement verifies that your caregiver (and not an answering machine) has received the alert, providing greater assurance.

The Design of the “More” Tab

Last but not least, Empatica2 has improved design and structure of the “More” tab, making it easier to navigate.

You’ll also find in the “Settings” page a simple explanation of how the Embrace2 syncs your data first with the app and then with their cloud.

The titles of each step in the data syncing process have been renamed so that they are easier to understand.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF THE EMBRACE2:

The very first smartwatch to be approved by the FDA.

New optimized 48+ hour battery life.

Fast charging, requiring only about 30 minutes for a full day’s charge.

New vegan and leather interchangeable bands are available separately in blue, black, grey, and red.

Newly enhanced appearance features 3 dots on the watch face at the 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions in addition to the heart at 3 o’clock, so that you can quickly and easily read the time.

For U.S. customers only: A prescription from a healthcare provider is required in order for the device to be shipped.

However, you can still order your Embrace2 while you arrange for your prescription to be prepared.

The prescription is important because you should discuss with your doctor why Embrace2 is right for you and your seizure types.

The Embrace2 is a prescription only device that is indicated for use as an adjunct to seizure monitoring of adults in home or healthcare facilities during periods of rest.

The device senses Electrodermal Activity (EDA) and motion data to detect patterns that may be associated with generalized tonic clonic seizures in patients with epilepsy or at risk of having epilepsy.

When a seizure event is detected, Embrace sends a command to a paired wireless device that is programmed to initiate an alert to a designated caregiver.

The System records and stores data from Accelerometers, EDA, and Temperature for subsequent review by a trained healthcare professional

Important: Empatica does not guarantee that Embrace2 and the Alert App will detect every single seizure and deliver alerts accordingly.

They are not meant to substitute your current seizure monitoring practices, but rather to serve as a supplement in expediting first-response time.

Always refer to the Product Manual for detailed instructions, warnings, precautions and possible risks related to the Embrace.

The Embrace2 with smarter epilepsy management, is $249 for the watch + an unlimited Subscription Plan.

  2. Looks like a wonderful invention but you would have to have the support network in place to benefit. Not practical for people on their own with no family/friends around who can come running. And yes, there’s a lot of us out there 😦

  4. Is this a device where you have to live near a cell phone tower to have it work they way it’s suppose to work ? The closest cell phone tower from where I live is at least 10 miles, plus there are hills & mountains between that straight line distance, which i9s why there is no cell phone service until you drive 5 miles out the road. Won’t be good for me if that’s the case, especially if I have to drive 7 miles or more to get close to a cell phone tower, for the doctor to get a electronic report about my brain activity. BEEN THERE DONE THAT with my heart tests & monitor that I had for at least 4 weeks of wearing, & it was no fun to drive 2 times a week for a report to get sent out when you get closer to a cell phone tower. But that is what they expect from you for them to make MONEY rather than getting to the root cause for your condition. Oh yeah,, the heart rate testing that I had 2 years ago, the actual price was over $6600.00. I told the neurologist that NOTHING was wrong with my heart, & all the monitoring of all the recording proved that. But it had to be done to rule it all out. Sure why not for $6,600.00. And that was from a level 4 epilepsy center.

  5. Actually my husband was mentioning to me and I had realized from previous seizures “I like to either hear a voice talk to me when I have a seizure until after I have one or to simply lay down and be hugged and hear the voice of a loved one speak to me before, during and after. Primarily because to me I find to be very comforting 💞🦅😇🙏🏼💞
