In a ground-breaking new study which appears online in the Annals of Neurology, neurologist and neuroscientist Dr. Tallie Z. Baram and her colleagues, discovered:

“Understanding how previous brain infections, seizures or injuries can interact with the cellular machinery to cause epilepsy is a crucial step toward designing drugs to prevent the process.

We don’t want to just treat people with epilepsy. We hope to develop medicines that will prevent epilepsy from occurring — and influence the lives of millions of people around the globe.”

I recently had a seizure about 2 days ago this would be my 4 th one I had In a 14 year period. One was at year 98 then 2000 then 07 n know 2012. My job consists of me driving fork-kliff what should I do know …

  - Alex, are you seeing a neuro? Are you taking any anti-seizure-meds?
    
    Sometimes, when we haven’t had a seizure in a long time, we tend to be kind of cavalier. Or in denial.
    
    Do you have any triggers that you know about? If not, I would suggest keeping a seizure diary noting your sleep patterns, what you eat and when, your daily activities (even your unpleasant ones,) when you get the seizures, how they feel and the duration of the seizures (if you can remember.)
    
    This might help you figure what’s going on and a new neuro get a better picture of perhaps what’s triggering your seizures.
