Find it – with the “Tile” | June 5, 2016

The Tile is a device that helps you locate misplaced objects using your smartphone in a way that is easy and intuitive.

This simple and sleek location tracking app can be used to help find any item you don’t want to misplace.

You can place small, affordable Tiles on wallets, purses, computers, luggage, etc., allowing them to communicate within the world’s largest lost and found network.

Every Lost Should Have Its Story of Found

We all know the satisfaction of helping someone find a missing something—which is why the Tile’s tracking device and phone app for iPhones and Androids were designed to work together.

When you search for your Tile, you aren’t just searching with your phone, but with everyone’s phone running the app.

Example:

A purse gets “misplaced”.

We all misplace stuff at home, work, the gym. Sometimes stuff just misplaces itself. But when it’s “Tiled”, every phone in the network can help search for it.

The owner can use their phone to find the updated location—down to the exact spot their purse ended up. They’re happy and there’s one less misplaced item in the world.

Here’s how it works:

Getting a Tile set up is very easy. After you download the free Tile app enable Bluetooth and location services, and register for a free Tile account, the app prompts you to add your first Tile.

To do so, simply press and hold on the “e” portion of the “tile” word on the Tile until the Tile emits a little tune and you hold the Tile close to your Android or Apple device when prompted to do so.

Your Tile is now paired. You can add up to 8 Tiles per account.

Using a Bluetooth signal with a range of up to 100 feet, it zooms in to give you the signal to what you’ve lost. It can be attached by its “keyhole” or via the included adhesive patch.

The Tile app will always show you the last place it “saw” (i.e., where it was in direct Bluetooth contact with) your Tile and how long ago it saw it.

It’s a virtual GPS road map!

To locate your missing Tile, start by going to that last known location. Once there, tap the Tile from your list to bring up the Find screen.

If a grey circle surrounds your Tile, it means your Tile is still out of the approximate 150 feet of Bluetooth range.

When you attach the Tile tag to an item (like your keys), you’re really tethering them both to your phone. So when your stuff gets lost, it’s found in minutes.

Tile casts a Bluetooth signal up to 100 feet, making short work of wherever your lost item is hiding. And since every phone with Tile helps find your stuff, your search range is potentially limitless.

More Tiles, Less Loss

You can add an unlimited number of Tiles to the app, so you don’t need to make any hard choices about what you’ll “Tile” and what you won’t.

Don’t remember the last place you had it? Tile does.

While the Tile doesn’t have GPS real-time location information, the app does automatically record the last place your device saw your Tile. Because if you have to retrace your steps, it’s good to know where to start looking.

Use the map to find your Tile’s last known location.

While you begin searching for that lost item, your phone tracks the Bluetooth signal strength of your Tile.

As you get closer, the app’s tracking circle fills in, giving you a clear indication of your progress.

If your Tile is lost, tap the Mark as Lost button to report your lost Tile.

Once your Tile has been found by either you or a Tile community member, you will be notified of the item’s location.

As the Bluetooth signal draws you closer, the Tile’s distinctive melody will play until your lost item is back in safe hands.

Find It With a Little Help From a Friend or Family Member.

Share access to your Tiles with a family member, friend or coworker so that you can stay on top of the stuff you all use.

Whether you’re helping Dad find the remote or share keys with a significant other, you can make finding them a team effort.

And this sleek Tile Tracking Tag is tough and can be personalized with a design of your choice.

A spilled drink or a rainy day won’t pose a problem.

Drop it and it stays intact.

And aside from that, the Tile’s design makes it easy to hook, tape, and attach it to anything, all without sacrificing its clean, good looks.

No chunky, cumbersome reminders. Just a sleek Title to be your “lost and found” partner.

And your Tile will run for a year with zero upkeep. No batteries, no charging, zip.

The World’s Largest Search Party.

When it comes to finding your Tiles, you aren’t alone.

Every phone with the Tile app helps you find your stuff by anonymously guiding you to your missing item.

And starting at just $25 a year, it’s a must not to miss.

Just purchase however many you want and download at the Apple App Store or the android app at Google Play.

“I bought the 12 pack of Tiles for my family for Christmas. We are constantly losing our keys, wallets, etc. Well Tile solved all our problems, and I’ve advised all my friends to go out and buy this great product. I’ve put Tiles on all my 3 car keys, my wallet and my safe key, and that’s just a partial list. It has worked every time I’ve misplaced an item.”

  1. What does this have to do with epilepsy? It looks like you’re selling a product and takes away your credibility.

  3. This actually sounds like a good idea. I wonder if I could staple one of these tiles to the back of my head for the next time my mind decides to take a fanciful voyage off somewhere into deep space. But then I would have to go get a smart phone instead of this old ignorant one I use.
