What Is Your Inspiration? | December 5, 2025

“I want people with epilepsy to know that there are ways in which they can play a role in their own recovery.

It’s all in how they approach what is happening and how they can use that as a catalyst for their own growth.

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned, it’s that people are willing to embrace you if you share your story.”  —  Danny Glover

I feel humble looking at other people’s EEG’s signatures. Listening their stories, I feel humbled!

My seizures have never totally been totally controlled but I was able to work! Now I volunteer!

    Phylis,

I so appreciate your site and all the material you provide. I developed temporal lobe epilepsy at age 68 while caring for my mother. Like many others, I was not aware that epilepsy could be acquired at this age. I.ve read and researched a great deal about the condition, but it’s certainly hard to adapt to the loss of “names or words” that use to be a part of my normal vocabulary. Do you have any information or suggestions on how to keep this part of my brain working? Thank-you.
