Help Save Our Democracy! | August 17, 2020
Reclaim our vote. And pass the word along to others.
In these days of postal problems and uncertainty, the more people who vote, the more votes can be counted.
Including yours.
Ongoing voter suppression and voter list purging have been disenfranchising millions of eligible voters.
Reclaim Our Vote works to rectify that situation.
Volunteers inform and mobilize voters to make sure they are registered and they know how to get a ballot and vote.
It is a nonpartisan campaign of the nonprofit 501(c)3 Center for Common Ground.
Partners include State Voices, Black Voters Matter, Virginia Poor People’s Campaign, DemLabs, Mi Familia Vota, Progressive Coders Network, VoteRiders, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, American Ethical Union, Religious Action Center for Reformed Judaism, UU the Vote, Rapid Resist and others.
In fall 2018, working with partners, they made hundreds of thousands of phone calls to voters nationwide.
Canvassing teams on the ground followed up with those who could not be reached by phone. In 2019 they sent 347,000 postcards, 114,000 texts, and made 90,000 calls to voters.
The goals for 2020 are substantially higher — and they need your help — wherever you live.

Around here, I NEVER find out *WHO is running for WHAT, *UNTIL the day I vote–unless I see signs in a neighbor’s yard. I would like to know *In Advance ALL those on “The List.” Not just who is running for President of The United States. Our *Local and State People are EQUALLY as important. *My opinion.

Effie, you should be getting a Sample Ballot in the mail several weeks before the election. If you aren’t, you need to contact your local Registrar of Voters and make sure you are on the list. Not sure where you live but California has the sample ballot available online too.

The League of Women Voters sends out materials to registered voters in advance of an election. You can find your local group online at http://www.lwv.org, or in a telephone directory in the Business pages.

Thanks, paleobird. I got some in the mail and at the door. My husband got more mail from local people running for an office. Thanks for your response.
As I write, I am still listening to “The Results.” May not know until tomorrow.

Our local and state people are what drives the train, I agree. Leadership must begin there. But, for those that don’t/can’t vote in the presidential level, any kind of democracy, at any level, is at stake.

I urge all my friends in the U.S. to vote. I hope you take into consideration your health, and vote for a candidate that will not only unify to reduce stress, but also cover medical and drug costs. Good luck in November. Canada is with you.

Covering the civilians who were below poverty line whether they belong to any community, race, and nation living in your nation is the first step to cover them.
