Epilepsy Talk

In Memory of Connie Johnson… | May 11, 2025

If it can be said, my mother-in law died a “good” death, out of pain and surrounded by those she loved and those who adored her.

She was extraordinary. A heart like a hotel — with room for all.

But the most memorable thing she said, which I’d like to share with you is: “The more love you give, the more you get. And the more you have to give back.”

In other words, love is infinite.

The world is a little poorer for her death. But richer for her life.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

Your writing is a gift to her and to us, and, I hope, to yourself, going beyond words into love so infinitely strong it remains timeless, with no boundaries. Thank you.

She was a gift. All the things my “mother” was not.

I didn’t do so well in the birth parent draw. But I hit the sweepstakes when I met Arthur’s parents.

I used to joke that I married him for his mother and father. They were the best.
