Ode to epilepsy… | April 25, 2025

It strikes my head a hundred times…

It strikes my soul as many…

It strikes each thought I have…

It strikes my sense and sensibility...

It strikes my consciousness…

It strikes my confidence…

It strikes all that I believe in…

It leaves my heart at sea…

What is this thing called epilepsy?

Reminds me of Poe’s reaction to his seizures all were a curse from below. Direst poems in history too. Think we know better than to let seizures hurt our minds like this now for sure.

Reminds me of Poe who wrote direst poems in history due to his seizures. A curse a visit from below was once his opinion. Socrates felt his a gift, a visit from above that allowed him to philosophize like no other! Glad we know better than either now. How it affects the mind is up to us.
