    I may have had epilepsy and went through a lot of seizures but a lot of my family (the oldest three of six kids and my mom) had pancreatitis and had to put up with a lot of pain. One brother became the first person to have his pancreas removed. It helped him live to be 72 but my sister was only 31, other brother was 52 and my mom was 54.

    This helped me in two ways: to put up with epilepsy and to have no fear of my temporal lobectomy.
