By title, it’s “Best Day of My Life”. Yesterday I celebrated 24 years since my surgery and these are the best words to describe that day.

My goal is to help others deal with seizures and other issues with epilepsy I participate in support group meetings and awareness. On election day this year I celebrated 38years no seizures 37 1/2 no meds I had left temp lobe brain surgery nov5th 1986
That’s why I picked the song FREE BIRD

My song is by Bon Jovi (I’m from the big hair era) but this is a recent song I found on YouTube that’s never been released. So is called “I Ain’t Done Yet”…..be fighting the good fight for 10 yrs and had a right temporal loabetomy Nov ’22… but had a major complication….also had a stroke. My left arm and leg were pretty messed up…..but “I Ain’t Done Yet”. Good song. Even if you’re not a Bon Jovi fan, listen to the lyrics.

As a former player in a rock band (very former indeed), I think it’s the words AND music that break through to another’s soul. Music is not quite as low-level as smell, but it’s certainly something that a baby responds to before her or she can speak. The music is like the hypodermic needle and the words are the medicine — the payload of meaning that the music delivers. Yes, there are time-deaf people, but even they can respond to music, and when the words are very meaningful and suited to the music, they can elicit peals of laughter or bring on the waterworks. Think of “Yesterday,” a song that Paul McCartney has related to the loss of his mother to cancer when he was only 14. The verses would seem rather dull without the beautiful music, but together, oh, do they deliver!
