Who goes to Florida in May? | May 2, 2024

Me.

Certainly not for the heat and humidity, but to see my beloved niece.

And to celebrate her 40th birthday. (Although it’s a little bit early.)

So, let’s raise a glass to Tyler.

May she have at least 40 more years of health, happiness, success and beauty.

P.S. I’ll be away from Thursday 5/2 through Tuesday 5/7. (I know. That’s a lot of celebrating!)

Speaking as a year-round resident of Florida’s West Coast I have to tell you that May is the very best time to come! most of the visitors and half year residents ( aka Snowbirds) leave at the end of April so parking spaces and restaurant seats are readily available. The hordes on their e-bikes no longer zoom Down the Legacy Trail like a hold of geriatric Hells Angels and you can again get same day doctor appointments! The temperature really passes mid 80s at peak and the humidity is now worse than that in Long Island after a rainstorm. Relax and enjoy yourself Phylis!
