Nothing lasts forever. And it seems my knee is one of those things.
So, I’m scheduled for total knee replacement surgery on Wednesday, August 2nd.
Please bear with me, because I hear that rehab is torturous and drug driven.
So, I’ll either be howling in pain or out-cold. (Naturally, I prefer the out-cold version.)
Recovery can take weeks, but I’ll try to check in when I can.
In the meantime, take care of one another.
Wishing you all the best !

Several of my family members went through a knee replacement and they are quite happy. You are such a positive person, I’m sure you’ll fine.

May your recovery be short and without incident. May you resume dancing soon.

Later this year I plan to have a fourth surgery since January, 2022, so you know I wish you the best with minimum pain. This time I’m having hip surgery so I feel it won’t be as bad as yours.

I don’t know, Ed. Hip/Knee. We may be head to head in the pain department. (No pun intended!)

I had a TKR two years ago. The best advice I can give you is “Do the homework “. ALL of it. Walk every few hours whether you feel like it or not. The first two weeks for me are a blur. Then lots of pain. But. The more I moved the better I felt. I am not suggesting you leave your home. I did a lap around my apartment of less than 1000 sq ft.
Also, take pictures of your face and your wound on day one and the day you come home. This will help when you just can’t.
Breathe. You are going to be AWESOME at rehab!
Good vibes. ❤️

Missy, I’ve already started my homework with pre-op exercises.
Pictures? I don’t know if I can stomach that.
But I promise to walk and walk and walk.
Thanks for the good vibes!!!!

I hope and pray you have a quick recovery Phyllis! I am sadly up for more seizure surgery within the next few months. I am currently going through the pre-testing to see if I am a candidate for surgery.
