We have so much to be grateful for, especially me:
1. For your support, strength and caring…
2. Your smart, sensitive advice…
3. The compassion you share so generously…
4. All of your kind, wise encouragement…
5. Your never-ending love and dedication…
You are MY godsend…today, tomorrow and always.
Also thanks for the Internet and electricity, making our connection possible; and for literacy, without which, etc.

For the advance in control of seizures…
For finding an epileptologist who treated me like family…
For everyone who has shown me their support and everyone I have been able to give support…
For having no fear of being alone with my grandchildren…
For the last 20 years being the recipient of a second chance at life…

But,,, All those things are temporary. Yes, even after 60 years to the day, when you look back at that date on Thanksgiving Day 1960 on NOV 24th. FFWD>>2020 I had another GRAND MAL and why does it continue 60 years later to that day on 11-24-20. Only 1 answer JOB SECURITY for neurologist who do not care to ever stop seizures for anyone who has had them for a lifetime & lives with seizures, before that INNOCENT INFANT keeps having seizures, & ever create a conscience of their own to think for themselves. EXAMPLE,,, VIMPAT is an AED that can cause HEART BLOCKAGES, as I have had chest pain now & then, throughout the summer, & spring, doing all that I do, having been doing outside work. Waiting for my results over 10 days ago from a ECG & a STRESS TESTS being on a treadmill. Been through this before back in 2009 when then I took VIMPAT & I was never told then that VIMPAT causes heart value & artery blockages.

James,,, One of the world’s celebrated best football/soccer players who led Argentina to world champion in 1980 & 1984, Diego Maradona was born in 1960 & died this week in 2020. He was only 60.
While I can understand your frustration with the hardships of controlling your seizures, you’re fortunate you beat epilepsy for 60 years & you’re still alive to fight for another day unlike Diego Maradona.
Therefore, I would advise you to count your blessings & appreciate your victorious struggle to make it this far against all odds.
I pray for you!

Though I don’t post often, I am grateful for this technology that brings us together. Surely there are some of us who are alone right now on Thanksgiving because of the pandemic. We can come here to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Thank you, Phylis, for being like the Biblical image of a shepherd who brings the scattered sheep together.

To the brave, persistent folks of the diversity and inclusion movement, gratitude.
To the public officials and lawmakers who are making things easier, gratitude.
To every health care worker who takes the time to really listen, thank you.
To Doctors Schachter and Devinsky, thank you.

Devinsky is my hero. And I wrote an article for Steven Schachter’s latest book on epilepsy advocates. I was honored to be asked. Where did he find me?? I don’t know!!!

Us your subscribers. If he had actually asked, we would have applauded. Or maybe he read the postings here and we did recommend you, in a way.

Erving Goffman, in his book on stigma, says that people who are stigmatized are seen by “normals” as less than human. Here, at least, in this safe space Phylis has made and maintains, we can be human together; for which I am profoundly grateful.

It’s my dream that people have a safe place where they can express themselves, rant and roar, ask questions, seek advice and be upheld by genuine people who do not judge, they only care.
