We’re back from Chicago, after getting home at 2:30 in the morning.
Emily is a cute as can be. Right now she looks like a little twig. All brown and a little over two pounds.
The cat show was quite an experience and Emily did place in her class with a big beautiful ribbon.
Needless to say, our breeder and I were very pleased.
And Emily seemed pleased, herself.
Noe she’s in hiding under the bed, coaxed out by feather wands and other assorted toys. But she’s still very shy.
We can’t wait to snuggle her and cuddle her. Once she’s ready.
So cheers for Emily our adorable, award-winning kitten.
OH YOU LUCKY LADY!! I FEEL SOOOO HAPPY FOR ALL OF YOU!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS MY FRIEND AND PLEASE MAKE LOTS OF GOOD MEMORIES ๐๐๐ผ๐ฆ ๐๐๐๐. Thank you ๐๐ผ๐ฆ ๐๐. I canโt believe I had to suffer through all of that for years and it wasnโt even my fault!! Good thing I took all of my HIGH SCIENCES!!!!!!! I caught it myself then questioned the pharmacy about it. But try a little bottle with some โsensations (my cat likes the โfish flavourโ ๐). Just shake it and sheโll come out ๐ป๐ป๐ป๐ป๐ป๐ป๐ป๐๐๐๐๐๐๐

Banging the food can with a spoon is helpful, too!
And let’s hear it for High Sciences and self advocacy.
You should be proud of yourself!

Yes that works as well ๐. Well we all help eachother and thatโs why you write to help us all either help ourselves and eachother ๐๐ผ๐ฆ ๐๐ป. Apparently I have to give myself a couple week to continue to adjust, but itโs amazing how one night can change a lot of thing and give feeling, balance, sight and HOPE back where it was once lost!! ๐๐๐ฆ ๐๐ผ๐

Well, I think every change is an adjustment that your body has to get used to.
Good that your body is responding in such a positive way!

I actually told my husband yesterday โWOW!! I could almost jump to the sky one minute!! And FLOP TO THE GROUND the next!! I wish there were ways to figure out how long it would take, the process and just what to expectโ. It upset me thinking of all the people who may have the same issue and not know or even be aware of it!! Plus not be able to afford it as well!! Thank you Phylis ๐๐ป

I think it takes six weeks to cross the blood/brain barrier.
So, just hang in there!

Makes me wonder if itโs the generic medications that are getting epileptics more sick or even helping us. Because here in Canada my understanding is they only prescribe or give โgeneric medicationsโ not โbrand name medicationsโ unless specified by the doctor on our files as in a โno substitutionโ order. Shucks all that time I thought I was allergic to my laundry detergent, just couldnโt see properly or feel properly and smell right!! I thought it was in my diet and sleep all this time.

Generic drugs have 80% of the original formula and 20% of (unknown) filler.
Often it changes from drug to drug. That’s why consistency is so important.

WOW!! I knew that! But oddly if it werenโt for you and โEpilepsy Talkโ I may not even have had that knowledge and applied it to what I already was told decades ago!! For that I have SINCERELY THANK YOU PHYLIS AND FOLLOWERS!! ๐๐๐ผ๐ฆ ๐๐๐. For you Phylis I have to let you know PRETTY PLEASE LISTEN TO YOU NEW ADDITION!!!!!!! Because oddly (I think through smell and something else) our FUR BABIES REALLY ARE OUR GUARDIANS!!!!!!! ๐๐ผ๐ฆ ๐๐๐. It just makes me wonder WHY are we being made to take โgeneric medicationsโ is that is knowledge well known to the medical professionals? And or why is it SO EXPENSIVE to get BRAND NAME MEDICATIONS than generic medications? Maybe thatโs how come some epileptics can be having such a hard time with their medications? ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐๐ผ๐ฆ ๐

I think name brands are more expensive for both BIG Pharma and the pharmacies themselves.
Just thing of all the mark-up and profit. Follow the $$$.

That may very well be!!!! Just makes me wonder whatever happened to the compassionate carings people of our societies and countries that REALLY DO WANT TO HELP? And not for monetary gain. Or IF THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS (neurologists, doctors and nurses) are even aware of differences? As epileptics we try so hard to teach, show and tell them yet it almost feels as though we arenโt being heard. Yet weโre the โepilepticsโ not them. All those poor neurologists, epitologists, and Various medical personal who are getting the bad rap just is not right. Because it may end up not having much to do with them after all or they may not even know. Thank you ๐๐ผ๐

Of course they know the differences.
But many can’t afford the name brand and for the majority of people, generics do work. (Like for me.)
I think it’s the insurance companies that are driving this train.

Thatโs not proper. Because how can anyone (medical or non medical professionals or even person and family) be able to know or even prevent the negative effects of the medications if their only on 80% of their true amount of medication. I donโt mean to create any trouble I apologized but it is knowledge that we should be aware of thatโs all. Thank you ๐๐๐ผ๐ฆ ๐

Here it costs me $185.00 for the brand name โtegretol crโ as opposed to the $85.00 for โgeneric tegretolโ. Just an example ๐๐ฆ ๐

Also Phylis my family doctor had โno ideaโ that I was prescribed โBRAND NAME MEDICATIONS ONLYโ! Or that it was even in my file until I mentioned it myself. Then she seen it on my file and it was immediately changed back. Just food for thought. Thatโs all

Perhaps a note from your neurologist would have helped? Or a little more attention by your family doctor?

I was put in my chart back in 1985 because I couldnโt handle the โgeneric tegretol and Dilantinโ. It REALLY HURT MY STOMACH TOO MUCH!! So I opted for the grand male seizure instead. I was lucky in the sense that my family doctors at the time both had a โvested interestโ in epilepsy due to personal matters. And they caught it. Thatโs when it was changed because I also had hives (I just sucked it up and never said anything) until I was asked by them and then I told them. Thatโs when I was told to NEVER TAKE A NO NAME OR GENERIC MEDICATIONS EVER!! Because I was allergic to generic medications. I took it for granted it would be adhered to by the pharmacy. Then it was changed without my knowledge.
