Epilepsy Talk

Away I go, from Saturday 11/16 through Tuesday 11/19 | November 16, 2019

You might remember the piece I wrote called “Prayer for a Cat,” in memory of our two-year old kitty who died of incurable peritonitis. (Who would think a cat could get peritonitis?)

Well, her successor is ready to come home and take a place in our house and our hearts.

Her name is Emily Louise and she comes from the same mom as our dearly departed Leena Lee, but hopefully her fate will be happier.

The reason I’m going to Chicago is that she is in a Midwest cat show and I’m to claim her after she’s strutted her stuff. (Mind you, she’s only 4 months old.)

So Emily and I will be taking the red eye from Chicago, after the show…and hopefully all will go well. (Cross your fingers for no snow!)

Although frankly speaking, I would NOT want to be in a show for 8 hours, then an airport for 3 hours, in an airplane for another 2 hours, and finally captive in a car for another hour.

MEOW!

It will take a lot of turkey to tame this baby beast!

So that’s what I’ll be doing. Taming and comforting our new fur baby as she probably cries her lugs out.

But Arthur and I are elated. And I hope you won’t mind my absence.

Take care of one another…

  3. Cute kitty pics … great idea! I love having pets — I have two dogs (hubby is allergic to felines) and can’t imagine life without them. Our male dog, Koda, is really good about staying with me and offering doggie comfort after a seizure. (don’t tell our female, Roxie, that I actually like Koda best). Safe travels and enjoy cuddles with your new baby.

  5. Ok, ladies, I’m a dummy in technology. I don’t know HOW to post pictures on a website. Maybe Arthur will be able to help me. 🙂

    • The long journey for passionate friendship just begun in ice-cold Chicago into a warm home in Pennsylvania.
Obviously, this week is just a honeymoon, an introduction for a whole lot more bonding & beautiful memories to come.
The best is yet to come.

  11. It’s a home full of love, for sure.

Emily actually came from the wild tundra of upper Michigan, where it is indeed freezing.

But she had lots of love and companionship from her little sister and litter mates.

Now she’s on her own and we’re trying to fill that gap with lots and lots of attention and lovies.

Feather games, snuggles and anything we can think of to get her from hiding under the bed.

This morning she came out (or was scooped out) from under the bed for some together time, under the covers.

She’s a darling and we just want to give her all the love she is due.

You’re right. Bonding is the order of the day!
