  2. Need to add my neurosurgeon Dr “Kris Smith” at Barrow St Josephs hospital in Phoenix AZ with neuro-oncologist Dr Lynn Ashby. Call Dr Smith when all other doctors have given you no hope for survival. Dignity health hospital system. They have kept me alive since 2006. Dr.Smith was able to go in and do some cuts to keep seizures from travelling to both sides of the brain. No more Grand Mals since 2008. My current seizures stay on one side and are much more mild since the surgery.

  3. Maybe after you read & learn more about Dr. Paul Lyons, he would be added under the state of VIRGINIA. Dr. Lyons seems to give the person with seizures all the options that he knows to do what he has been taught & that he believes is BEST for the patient he sees. If that is good or bad for the patient, time will tell, when BOTH learn the hard way, although the ”patient” is always the one that suffers. Still Dr. Lyons is good. As normal WEST VIRGINIA does not have anyone good in neurology or at anything, which is why people of a 150 mile radius goes to VIRGINIA or MARYLAND doctors around here.

    • If he’s a neurologist, he is listed under the state of Virginia.

Sounds like a fabulous doctor, anyone would be lucky to see.

  5. Under PA neurologists you have Dr. Joyce Liporace listed at Riddle Hospital. She is no longer there. She is with Dr. Thomas Graham (who is also on your list).
They are in Great Valley Neurological Assoc. LLC

  8. Philis, you have Dr. Robert S. Burgerman listed in Sacramento, California, and I have some bad news. Dr. Burgerman passed away nearly two years ago. He was, indeed, a fabulous epileptologist. I went to him for about six years, until his passing. I now go to Dr. Sekhon, and the wonderful Nurse Practitioner, Linda Ramatowski, who was also his wife, is working with Dr. Sekhon. I have a VNS, and needed docs who could work with me on that; one thing I learned is, not every neuro-doc has the equipment, or does that work. But I felt fortunate working with my new doc–a wonderful woman–and with Linda, again–someone I had gotten along well with and have since felt fortunate to be able to reconnect with professionally as well. Please correct the list–and if you put my new doc in it, I won’t feel bad at all.

    • Thanks for the invaluable information on both counts. I’ve added Dr. Sekon (do you know her first name) and deleted Dr. Burgerman.

Both will be a help to others!

  9. I was happy to see Toufic Fakhoury of Lexington KY’s Center for Epilepsy. I would have been happy to add him if he had not been listed.

  11. There is an epileptologist in St. Johns NL, Dr A Ogunyemi who is just fabulous. I’ve been in his office for more than an hour at a time for clinical appointments. He even took the time to go to another office to show me and my family the abnormal eeg readings and explained it all to us, we were very unfamiliar with epilepsy and that was nearly a 2 hour visit. I live a few hours away from his office but if I have a question or my family Dr. does he makes sure too return the calls. I’ve been in Status and intubated twice, airlifted to the hospital he works out of as it is the major trauma hospital in the province where I live and he’s been fantastic for me and my family!! Dr. A Ogunyemi thanks so much for your help and dedication.
