For all those struggling students, now there’s this new, incredible device called the “Smartpen”.
Yup. A pen can be smart.
Here is a pen that could transform the life of a learning disabled child. Or a physically challenged person.
How about a pen that might bring up the grades of a college student who finds it difficult to take notes fast enough to record the main points covered by lecturers?
A Smartpen is a computer in a pen that can capture handwriting at the same time as recording speech. Users can tap on their notes to replay what was recorded. Think of it as a digital “touch” pen.
By tapping on the notes with the Smartpen, students can hear the conversation from that exact moment in time. And the digital voice recorder allows you to replay every word the teacher says later at a slower speed.
It links audio recordings you make as you jot written notes — to the actual text you’re writing. And it can later all be indexed on a PC, and played back on the computer. Or by clicking on the notepad.
For example, if a Smartpen user wants to know the definition of a word, she can write, “define,” followed by the word. The pen, using data stored in its memory, will recognize the word the user writes and display its definition on a small screen on the side of the pen. The same type of procedure can be used to translate words or solve math problems. Type out an equation and the pen will answer it for you through sound and on the screen!
To take notes, you write with real ink on the special paper, which is covered with barely visible dots; they tell the pen’s camera where you are on the page. You can buy various pads of pre-printed paper or you can print your own speckled paper at home.

Guess what?
In the end, the Church MISSIONARIES became the main beneficiary of “FLYING-AIRPLANES”, travelling all over the world to preach Gospel by airplanes.
In the same case,,, IF HUMAN BRAIN WAS VERY GOOD IN PROCESSING, CALCULATING, RECORDING, MEMORIZING & EXPEDITING “THOUGHT PROCESS” TO SATISFY HUMAN NEEDS & BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS, AS GOOD AS YOU THINK, WHY DO YOU THINK, WE HAVE COMPUTERS TO CALCULATE BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS, STORE RECORDS & FILES?

While you may be blessed with photographic memory of your school days, business meetings, your family birthdays,,, etc, some of our human beings are NOT as blessed as you.
Therefore, just like you are using computers to expedite transactions, store files, record documents, family birthdays,,, using the pen to record class lectures, business meetings, court proceedings,,,, is no different.
In fact, the process augments human “thought-process”, keeping the brain active with
multitasking bailey projects.
I hope, you re-consider the benefits of the technology.

when the big portable phone came out I thought it was silly. Now look at it and how beneficial it is. This is great. I wish I had it as a student. I could benefit it from now because I am always taking notes! I don’t understand what people are saying but if this pen records cool!

Actually, it was a student at the support group I run who told me about it. She found out about it and test-drove the $99 model.
She has epilepsy (what a surprise) and she was having trouble getting through high school. Especially remembering things for her homework.
Now, she’s in COLLEGE! (That means SATs, remember?)
It was such a fabulous story that I HAD to investigate this smart pen. The only trouble is there are so many models to choose from.
So, I think I’d try the $99 model and take it from there.

Thanks alot : ) for your post. I want to write my opinion that the expense of car insurance differs a lot from one coverage to another, due to the fact there are
so many different facets which bring about the overall
cost. For instance, the model and make of the auto
will have a large bearing on the fee. A reliable older family auto will have a less expensive premium compared to a flashy sports vehicle.

Thelma, I was so impressed by the girl in my support group who went from struggling high school student to successful college student — it just blew me away.
I had never even heard about a SmartPen,” so I figured if I didn’t know about it, maybe others didn’t also.
THAT girl was my inspiration!
