Here’s the premise: What better way to educate peope about epilepsy than by telling OUR own stories? (I’m sure they’re as different as we are!)
They can be in text, poetry, art or photography (if you send me a file), whatever format you wish. (Except music. I wish I could.) But the emphasis is on you…YOUR LIFE…YOUR EPILEPSY…HOW IT AFFECTED YOU…
It starts in the playground. A kid has a seizure and everybody freaks out. Nobody knows what to do. Maybe not even the school nurse. Even though epilepsy first aid is a cinch.
It’s frightening to see a child seize and then, based on that fright, they think “I can’t deal with this.” Some people still think epilepsy is contagious!
